Director: Nicole Edwards

Mrs. Nicole lives in Charles City with her husband and fur babies. She goes to Colosse Baptist church where she teaches Sunday school for the four and five years old. She also is in a lady's mission group called the Faith Bears and sings in the Glory Bound choir. She has her Bachelor’s in Human Services with a minor in special education from Old Dominion University. She has also completed her associate degree in early childhood education at John Tyler Community College in December 2021 and will continue to complete her bachelor’s at VCU. She has been teaching and leading at FCDS for 14+ years as a full-time lead teacher, school age coordinator, assistant director, and now as director.

Assistant Director: Nichole Dixon

Mrs. Nichole Dixon lives in King William with her husband and 3 children. She and her family attend Compass and she was Baptized by Pastor Ed in 2018. Her children are very active in sports, and they love to travel. They own a Family Business (Automotive) in King William as well as in Hanover. She has a Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Degree in Preschool Education. She started off with Friendly as a part-time afternoon teacher, then working her way to a full-time Lead teacher and now the Assistant Director. 2025 marks her 13th year at the school.

 

Finance Director: Candice Abbott

Mrs. Candice Abbott lives in Mechanicsville with her husband of 13 years, son, and their very loved Jack Russell, Oliver.  She received her Bachelor of Science from VCU.  She and her husband operated a delivery, freight and food distribution business in Richmond VA for 13 years. Her skillset covers Administrator of Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and Account Management for 20+ years.  Originally, Candice is from Florence, SC and was baptized at the age of 5 in Florence Baptist Temple.  She and her family attend Mechanicsville Christian Center and enjoy serving the Lord.  She has a heart for children and people of all ages. Candice makes it a mission to be a compassionate, and an understanding administrator. She has been an asset to FCDS since October 2019.

 

School Age Director: Mrs. Kelly

Mrs. Kelly Dowdy lives in King William with her husband, two sons, and a daughter. She previously had a well-established In-Home Child Care, which in turn after starting at Friendly had many families follow and enroll their children. Mrs. Kelly plays a dual role as the school age Sharks teacher of two years along with now filling the role as School Age Coordinator. She is currently working on her Bachelor's in Education at Liberty University. She and her husband also own a small bounce house business known as Dowdy Inflatables.

All Friendly Staff are trained in CPR & First Aid for adults, children, and infants. In addition, multiple staff members are trained in Medication Administration. Each year, our staff are required to obtain continuing education hours through various means of training.
